CALGARY, Alberta – PBS Systems, a leading software provider for North American automotive retailers, just wrapped its 26th-annual customer-exclusive Dealer Conference from September 17-20, 2024, at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.
Held since 1998, this event has experienced substantial growth, especially over the last three years, reaching record-high attendance in Nashville. A large number of new PBS customers attending for the first time contributed to making this one of their most dynamic conferences yet.
With the focus on helping dealers take advantage of the power and features of their DMS, Dealer Conference offered over 50 hours of workshops and collaborative opportunities in Music City, facilitating connections between developers, leadership, and industry colleagues. The event hit all the high notes, including:
Innovative Presentations
The latest releases of PBS’s v10 DMS were presented with updates and sparkling new features for Accounting, Fixed Operations, and Sales tracks. A new feature for 2024’s conference, called the Interactive Learning Lab, designed to engage newer users, provided a more personal hands-on experience with customized setups in a live environment.
Expert Panels
Two relevant industry topics were presented through expert panel discussions: Cyber security and digital retailing. These sessions covered dealer security best practices and the balance between the convenience of e-commerce business with traditional, face-to-face relationship-building.
Customer Feedback
PBS gathered valuable insights from customers, helping guide future software enhancements.
Lynn McNeill, Senior Vice President of PBS Systems, reflected on the event’s success:
“The 2024 Conference had our highest attendance in over 20 years of hosting our customers at this event. Overall, the conference was a resounding success. Customers, prospects, and PBS personnel all had a high level of interaction. The Learning Labs provided a hands-on experience for customers with their actual data. We look forward to continuing building the PBS culture with all who attended.”
David MacMillan, Manager of Product Marketing, who oversees the curation of all product content, presentations, and customer engagements, added:
"I have been a part of Dealer Conference for 10 years with PBS and attended a number of years prior as a client. I can honestly say that Rev Up Nashville was our most collaborative event yet. Multiple departments worked together to gain insights into processes, highlighting customer challenges and showcasing how v10 can smooth them out.
Technology in the automotive industry is moving faster than ever, which is why it is so important for tech companies and their customer partners to keep open dialogue as it relates to emerging technologies and their real-world impacts. PBS has always encouraged a true partnership with its dealers using the DMS, and it was inspiring to be a part of the action in Nashville. ‘Rev Up’ set a high bar, but we're ready to make the next Conference even better."
In true PBS fashion, the 2025 Dealer Conference location was unveiled at the close of the event. There's already excitement brewing for Long Beach, California, where the next conference will be held from September 24-26, 2025.
